Ok, we are going to try the blog thing again. To catch you up, dear reader, let us review how we got here.
Social media was fun, but toxic. There is a wierd process that happens, you accept a “fringe” friend request, meaning someone who doesn’t quite fit the line you had mentally drawn in what your social media landscape might look like…so then that line moves. It moves again and again.
That would be fine if they just drifted away… but the algorithm does its thing and mixes them back in, it mixes you into their stuff. The more it gets under your skin (“promotes engagement”) the more the algorithm is encouraged.
We are going old school internet here. Like something? Share it. Did I get something wrong, did I miss something you want to add? Jump in the comments. I am not going to require you “keep it civil”, fly your flag, but it should be “contributory” to the conversation. I am the capricious and moody judge, but you will be glad to know that no decisions are final and binding. I told you we were going to kick it old school.
Now that you have gotten this far, lets talk about the use of AI. I am not using it in this post, this is getting typed straight to the page. However you should know that I used to use AI a lot. I still do, but I used to too. (reference) A significant contributor to my inability to maintain a blog, or any other project, in the past is rooted in executive dysfunction related to neurodivergency. We might get into that later, but I am experimenting with using AI as an assistive tool in the writing process. I am providing all the ideas and hashing it out in a session with Claude, and at the end I review and edit the final draft, but I absolutely use Claude as a writing partner, and in more limited sense as a researcher, but we will talk about that more in posts to come.
For now I am going to drop a piece on Disney and neurodivergency that I wrote last night. Jump in the comments, let’s get old school.
